Job Description
Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, including servers, kitchen staff, and hosts/hostesses.
- Create schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among staff members.
Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, comments, and complaints in a professional manner.
- Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness and organization.
Financial Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize profitability and minimize costs.
- Monitor food and beverage costs, labour costs, and other expenses.
- Analyze financial reports and take appropriate actions to achieve financial targets.
- Control inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Customer Service:
- Ensure that guests receive prompt, friendly, and personalized service.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by customers to ensure their satisfaction.
- Implement strategies to enhance the overall dining experience and promote customer loyalty.
Menu Development and Quality Control:
- Collaborate with the chef to develop and update menus based on customer preferences and market trends.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Conduct regular taste tests and quality inspections to uphold standards.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Coordinate special events, promotions, and advertising campaigns.
- Utilize social media and other platforms to engage with customers and promote the restaurant’s brand.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations and industry best practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in computer software (e.g., POS systems, Microsoft Office).
- Food safety certification will be an added advantage.
