Job Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall mission and goals.
  • Create and oversee the production of all communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, annual reports, social media content, and website updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists, pitching stories and securing media coverage for the organization.
  • Manage the organization’s social media accounts, ensuring regular updates and engagement with followers.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends, and provide regular reports to the leadership team.
  • Work closely with program staff to identify and promote success stories, and develop compelling content that demonstrates the impact of the organization’s work.
  • Manage the organization’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and reflective of the organization’s brand and messaging.
  • Plan and execute events, including press conferences, fundraisers, and other promotional activities.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, responding to media inquiries and representing the organization at events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication across all aspects of the organization.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in media relations, with a strong network of media contacts.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and creating content for a variety of platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in a team environment, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of non-profit operations and fundraising strategies preferred.
