Job Description:

• The IT Governance & Strategic Manager will oversee and ensure the effective alignment of IT strategies with the overall business goals of an organization. He/she is responsible for establishing and maintaining IT governance frameworks, managing IT risk and compliance, and driving strategic initiatives to optimize IT performance.
• The role involves developing and implementing IT policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and support the organization’s strategic objectives.
• He/she also collaborates with stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT investments, manage budgets, and monitor the performance of IT projects.
• Overall, an IT Governance & Strategic Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that IT resources are utilized effectively to drive business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities:

The IT Governance Officer is responsible for:

• Developing and implementing IT policies and procedures: responsible for creating and maintaining a set of guidelines that outline how IT operations should be conducted within the company. This includes policies related to data security, access control, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Ensuring compliance and risk management: responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with IT policies and procedures. This involves conducting regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company’s IT infrastructure.
• Managing IT controls: implementing and maintaining controls to protect the company’s data and systems. This includes managing user access controls, implementing security measures such as firewalls and encryption, and monitoring for any unauthorized activities or breaches.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams: work closely with other teams within the company, such as legal, finance, and operations, to ensure that IT initiatives align with the overall business objectives. This collaboration helps to ensure that IT governance practices are integrated into the company’s overall strategy.
• Continuously improving IT governance practices: responsible for identifying areas of improvement within the IT governance framework and implementing changes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of IT operations. This includes staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Experience & Educational Qualification:

• University degree (Engineering or Computer Science, Business Management).
• Evidence of continuous professional and personal learning and development.
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience in similar role.
