About the Role
- The Head of Sales and Marketing plays a fundamental role in investment generation, fostering client relationships, closing on deals, and driving business growth and brand visibility. The role is also responsible for creating, implementing, and driving the overall sales and marketing strategy across our group’s businesses. This position requires strategic oversight of both sales and marketing initiatives for all new and existing client bases, lead generation, pipeline management, strategic partnerships, market research and creation, digital marketing, and brand positioning to attract new customers and partners and retain existing ones.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated marketing campaign to generate leads, manage them, retain them, and close on them for the business.
- Utilize various marketing channels, including digital platforms, print media, and networking events, to promote and drive brand visibility and product offerings.
- Develop and manage marketing/sales pipeline for lead generation and management across each business.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date customer and sales database across our business lines.
- Oversee, mentor, and lead the marketing and sales team to deliver on the agreed deliverables. This includes ensuring strict compliance around the usage of allocated resources such as mobile phones, airtime vouchers, logistics, etc.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, institutions, and customers to enhance brand presence.
- Report regularly on sales/marketing performance, issues, and solutions to drive objectives.
Education and Experience
- First Degree in a related discipline.
- A master’s degree/MBA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in sales, marketing, and/or business development/investment promotion with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience setting up and managing digital channels for online sales and brand visibility including social media, print, blogs, newsletters, etc.
- Experience engaging with government bodies, and international institutions.
- Experience using sales/marketing tools for data management, analysis, and reporting, specifically CRM and Microsoft Excel.
- Proven hands-on experience in Sales.
