The Vice President, Payments will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our payment operations, including but not limited to payment processing, partnerships with financial institutions and payment networks, compliance with regulatory requirements, and development of new payment products and services. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the payments industry, strong strategic planning skills, and a proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive payments strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key partners, including banks, payment networks, regulatory bodies, and technology providers.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance payment processing efficiency, scalability, and security, leveraging cutting-edge technology and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, marketing, compliance, and customer support, to deliver best-in-class payment solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums, showcasing our thought leadership and fostering strategic partnerships to drive business growth.
  • Lead on Duplo Pay’s expansion beyond Nigeria
  • Stay abreast of industry developments in payment services and best practices
  • Ensure that our transaction reconciliation is done accurately and efficiently and meets all external and internal requirements
  • Implement robust risk management processes to address the complexities of payments within the mid-market and enterprise segments.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization within the mid-market and enterprise client base.
  • Anticipate the evolving payment landscape and emerging regulations that could impact the product and the business.

Technical and Professional Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of payment industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Robust understanding of the Nigerian Payment sector 
  • 8+ years relevant experience in payments, fintech
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing payment strategies to drive revenue and business growth
  • Familiarity with payment gateways, processing systems, checkout solutions, and emerging payment technologies
  • Proven experience in driving the expansion of payment capabilities into new markets and geographies
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market data, performance metrics, and customer feedback  to derive actionable insights and make data-driven decisions
  • Proven experience with strategic partnerships and stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
