Responsibilities
Safe Operation of Vehicles:
- Safely operate and drive trucks or trailers to transport goods to various destinations.
- Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of both the driver and other road users.
Loading and Unloading:
- Responsible for the loading and unloading of goods onto the truck/trailer.
- Ensure that all goods are properly secured and that the load is balanced to prevent accidents during transit.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of goods transported, including delivery schedules, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure all necessary documents, such as waybills and delivery notes, are properly filled out and submitted.
Timely Deliveries:
- Adhere to delivery schedules and timelines to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and distribution points.
- Communicate any delays or issues with the transportation coordinator or supervisor.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with the logistics team, warehouse staff, and other relevant personnel.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or issues encountered during transportation immediately.
Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with customers during the delivery process, providing excellent customer service.
- Handle customer inquiries and address any concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.
Physical Fitness:

Possess the physical fitness required for loading and unloading goods, as well as the endurance for long-distance driving.
Emergency Response:

Be prepared to respond effectively in case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, such as accidents or breakdowns.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 0-3 years experience.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Class G
- Proven experience as a truck/trailer driver.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail.
