JOB OVERVIEW
- The Technical Programs Manager shall work with a team of program staff and volunteers who are implementing a strategic roadmap under our client’s Impact Programmes.
- S/He will provide technical and operational support to multiple teams/ projects within the organization, accelerating the delivery of strategic objectives and scalable solutions for the foundation.
Programmes/ Project Management
- Develop Annual/ Quarterly work plan identifying, actions, responsibilities, timelines, et al. of activities required to successfully complete programmes.
- Prepare and set clear priorities for all programmes annually.
- Determine resources (time, money, equipment etc.) required to complete projects/ programmes.
- Coordinate successful implementation of programme activities with other programme managers/ coordinators.
- Effectively engage and manage volunteers for all projects/ programmes
Stakeholder Engagement & Management
- Develop and manage appropriate stakeholders and collaborations.
- Prepare and deliver reports/presentations to internal and external stakeholders on progress of programmes.
- Build & maintain good relationships with select Multinational institutions, including collaborating with host communities, government agencies, youth development Organizations and other related institutions.
- Lead the planning and implementation of periodic stakeholder/ partnership engagement events, awards, dinners et al.
- Represent the organization at stakeholder meetings, engagement, and conferences.
Staff Training and Leadership Development
- Identify knowledge gaps, skills and abilities required in developing and managing programme teams effectively and efficiently.
- In consultation with the HR unit and Management, assist in recruiting, and interviewing prospective volunteers/ interns for the foundations ‘programmes.
- Establish and implement performance management processes for all programme staff
- Budget planning & control
- Develop and submit monthly as well as annual budget for all programmes team as well as an efficient operating cost to support programmes
- Work with the finance team to monitor all budgeted and planned programme expenditures in line with approved budget.
- Manage project finances including working with field teams on forecasting, reviewing field expense reports, backup documentation and reviewing incoming requests for upward approval.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, with 5 years working in project management, client services, and programs management in Social Impact related fields.
- Globally conscious and technologically savvy
- Strong proficiency with research, data collection, review, analysis, documentation, and reporting applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop grant proposals, pitch decks, project reports, and winning presentations using data visualization tools.
- Proven ability to navigate complex environments, work independently, handle multiple and complex tasks simultaneously, and generate pragmatic solutions to address pressing problems.
- Regularly reviews progress of plans to redirect action when necessary to achieve targets.
- Strives to prioritize effectively and raise performance levels of self /others.
