  • The Youth Network for Community & Sustainable Development (YNCSD) is a pioneering youth-led organization, committed to catalyzing social change by engaging young people in critical sexual and reproductive health issues. Our primary focus is on amplifying youth voices to advocate for Human Rights through strategic advocacy, capacity building, development communications, and partnerships, with a special emphasis on Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights.
  • YNCSD is renowned for mobilizing youth to challenge Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and combat gender-based violence. Our commitment extends to transforming societal norms, advocating for reproductive rights, ensuring desired pregnancies, and providing comprehensive reproductive health services.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership in Program Management and Implementation:

  • Lead the Technical Team in executing outstanding technical programs and projects, focusing on delivering impactful results.
  • Strategically assign projects to align with team capabilities and organizational goals, particularly within the SRHR movement in Nigeria.
  • Develop and implement robust strategies that align with the program’s objectives and respond to the expectations of our donors and partners.
  • Establish and maintain proactive relationships with community activists and stakeholders, ensuring our programs align with community needs and advance the safe abortion movement.
  • Maintain a commitment to documenting and sharing impactful results and lessons learned, enhancing our organizational knowledge and advocacy efforts.
  • Oversee project activities to ensure they align with strategic goals, optimizing resource utilization and impact.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and administrative protocols, collaborating closely with organizational leaders.
  • Lead in technical reporting, providing comprehensive updates to donors and stakeholders, emphasizing our contributions to the movement.

Capacity Strengthening and Movement Building:

  • Spearhead capacity-building initiatives, focusing on empowering communities to advocate for sexual and reproductive rights.
  • Design and implement tools to assess and address service gaps, particularly in SRH
  • Champion collaboration and knowledge exchange within YNCSD, identifying opportunities to bolster the SRHRmovement.

People Management:

  • Lead a dynamic team, providing guidance and support to drive high-quality program delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive reports for the board, highlighting progress and impact of technical portfolio of projects
  • Foster a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
  • Encourage team collaboration
  • Regularly evaluate team performance, offering feedback and setting objectives to enhance effectiveness.
  • Address and resolve conflicts, ensuring a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Support team members in identifying career advancement opportunities, aligning with the organization’s goals.

Skills and Experiences
Required:

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in delivering technical programs, with a significant focus on SRHR.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SRHR, with specific insights into SRHR policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with a history of successful multi-community initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at articulating complex issues related to SRHR.
  • Robust research and technical writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Must be based in Abuja, possess emotional intelligence, and be staunchly pro-choice, aligning with our organizational values.

Highly Desired:

  • Experience in diverse and inclusive community engagement, particularly in contexts related to safe abortion, sexual and gender minorities, FSW and other KP communities.
  • Skills in facilitating meetings and processes.

Salary Range

  • 120,000 – 250,000 monthly, based on experience.
