Senior Backend Engineer needed at CapitalSage Technology Limited

• We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Python, Java and experience working on large-scale, distributed systems.
• As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in our Scrum teams, deploying multiple times daily via CI/CD pipelines to our Kubernetes clusters globally.
• Leveraging your expertise in event-driven, microservice-based architecture, you’ll help build and support products that drive innovation and excellence.
• Collaborating closely with Lead Engineers, you’ll translate product requirements into actionable architecture while mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on Java Development, adoption of modern software engineering & delivery practices using Java, Spring Boot, and Test Automation.
• Work closely with the team to understand needs around client stakeholder management.
• Demonstrate a passion for learning and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement, along with a great attitude, solid communication skills, willingness to learn and collaborate
• Develop and maintain Java applications and RESTful APIs in various environments
• Create solutions that are high-quality, scalable, and maintainable, with an emphasis on backend systems and related technologies
• Carry out unit and integration tests
• Identifying and resolving bugs
• Make sure you’ve developed enough test cases to ensure the design criteria are satisfied
• Produce well-written documentation for each microservice
• Creating and deploying microservices using the Spring Boot framework
• Interconnecting microservices with databases
• Knowledge of how streaming systems such as Kafka operate

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years development experience using Java in a J2EE environment
• Experience in Java and Spring Boot framework
• Understanding of creating applications with RESTful API
• Experience in Python/Django will be an added advantage
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Working knowledge of Git, Eclipse/IntelliJ
• Experience with Maven and/or Gradle
• Experience working in an agile environment
• System Design experience is non-negotiable
