Job Summary
- The role holder will work closely with financial institutions, stakeholders and clients to structure and negotiate project finance transactions, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Leading the energy and project finance team on diverse transactions
- Advising on the structuring of project finance transactions, such as infrastructure, public[1]private partnership, debt debenture, bonds, private equity, and other related financing arrangements
- Working closely with financial institutions, project developers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes
- Conducting legal due diligence on behalf of client
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and project agreements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Regularly providing clients with industry updates and legal opinions on industry trends; identifying potential legal risks and mitigation strategies
- Keeping abreast of trends in the industry
- Contributing to the business development of the Practice Area; amongst others.
Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in LLB, BL
- LLM will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 8 years post-call experience, preferably in the Energy and/or Finance sector
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of project finance structures and documentation
- Excellent team building and management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
