Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Isolo, Lagos. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Manufacturing or Production setting, and will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Payroll Management:
- Process payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with audits and tax planning activities.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the companys assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN.
- 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Manufacturing or Production setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Integrity and ethical conduct in handling confidential financial information.
