Research Analyst needed at Cowry Asset Management Limited

Job Description:

• The candidate is expected to conduct in-depth analysis of financial markets, industries, and companies. The role involves evaluating economic and financial data, creating financial models, and providing insights through comprehensive reports. He/she will helps drive investment strategies by delivering accurate and timely research to internal stakeholders, clients, and traders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on specific industries, companies, and market trends.
• Analyze financial reports, earnings releases, and other economic indicators.
• Gather and interpret data from various sources, including news reports, databases, and company filings.
• Prepare detailed written research reports, investment recommendations, and presentations.
• Produce equity research reports, sectoral analysis, and investment theses based on data-driven insights.
• Provide updates and briefings to clients on market developments, industry changes, and investment opportunities.
• Produce research reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with sales teams to present research findings to potential and existing clients.
• Track company performance, management strategies, and emerging market opportunities.
• Work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and other analysts to ensure consistent and aligned research outputs.
• Collaborate with the broader investment banking team to support client engagements, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; CFA or CIS equivalent is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience in research, financial analysis, or related roles.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with financial modeling and valuation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial databases and research tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
