Job Summary

  • The QMDD co-ordinates with other QMDD’s, crane operators or any other person necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The QMDD has the authority to stop ANY activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards.

Responsibilities

  • General vessel maintenance, including safe handling of tools and equipment for surface preparation and the application of paints and solvents.
  • Maintenance of emergency equipment and assisting in the maintenance of lifesaving and fire-fighting equipment as directed by the Chief Officer.
  • Assisting in the launch, recovery and routine daily maintenance of rescue craft. Undertaking duties of Helideck Attendant as directed
  • Assisting the Construction Department if requested to do so by the Chief Officer.
  • Assisting in all matters related to marine operations, including Watch keeping duties as required.
  • Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel’s Muster List/Station Bill
  • Ensuring that his daily activities and the activities of other crew members are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.

Requirements

  • The QMDD shall be qualified in accordance with STCW11/5.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience on a DP operated vessel.
  • Able to speak and understand English.
  • QMDD shall be qualified in accordance with the WOUS requirements for AB.
