Job Description

  • As our project manager, your job is to achieve the project and sales targets by successfully leading our team of Regional Sales Agents and related roles.
  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing a strategic plan to enable the Regional Sales Agents and their teams to achieve sales and project targets and also ensure our company’s strong presence in chosen geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including project scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including RMI, World Bank, local partners, suppliers, and community leaders.
  • Project Execution: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing of solar equipment and agricultural equipment.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring that project costs are kept within the approved budget.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks, taking proactive measures to mitigate potential impacts on project success.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to RMI and Afrimash management, highlighting project progress, challenges, and risks.
  • Manage recruiting, objectives setting, coaching, training, and performance monitoring of agent network managers.
  • Achieve positive outcomes for the project and hit sales targets by successfully managing the agent network.
  • Ensuring the strong presence of our agent network in chosen geographies; also provide intelligent recommendations of best geographies for expansion.
  • Create processes to build long-term relationships with agents and farmers.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of the agent network project.
  • Present sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts to the management team.
  • Measure the agent network project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, report and suggest improvements to management.
  • Champion the execution of excellent customer experience by collaborating with the internal team to resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on renewable energy and/or agricultural projects.
  • Evidence of consistently meeting or exceeding targets is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in sales and agriculture.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management, risk management, and budget management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results.
  • Knowledge of the local environment, culture, and business practices in the selected regions of the project.
