Product Manager needed at The HR Hub Nigeria

Role Overview

• As a Product Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our innovative tech dating platform! You’ll wear many hats, from leading the product vision and roadmap to collaborating with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, marketing) to bring it to life.  In this pre-launch phase, your focus will be on defining the core functionalities, ensuring a user-centric approach, and setting the stage for a successful launch. Your leadership and agile methodology skills will be crucial in keeping the project on track and adapting to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

User Research & Voice of Customer (VOC):

• Conduct user interviews, surveys, and A/B testing to understand target user needs, pain points, and dating app preferences.
• Analyze user data and feedback to inform product features and functionalities.
• Partner with marketing to identify ideal user personas and tailor the platform experience accordingly.

Product Definition & Prioritization:

• Work closely with engineering and design teams to translate user needs into a clear product roadmap.
• Prioritize features based on user impact, feasibility, and business goals.
• Develop user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure features meet user expectations.

Competitive Analysis:

• Research and analyze existing dating apps to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Benchmark your platform’s unique value proposition and competitive advantages.

Product Design & Development Collaboration:

• Partner closely with designers and UX experts to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
• Work with engineers to define technical requirements and ensure features are built to meet user needs and business objectives.
• Conduct regular product reviews and provide feedback throughout the development cycle.

Pre-Launch Testing & Refinement:

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive pre-launch testing plan.
• Gather user feedback through usability testing and iterate on the product based on insights.
• Ensure the platform is bug-free, secure, and scalable for a smooth launch.

Leadership and Agile Methodology:

• Product Vision & Strategy: Define the product vision, roadmap, and user experience (UX) for the dating platform, focusing on solving user pain points and creating a unique value proposition within the competitive landscape.
• Prioritization & Backlog Management: Prioritize features and functionalities using agile methodologies like user story mapping and backlog refinement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, data science) to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with key stakeholders (CEO, investors), manage expectations, and secure buy-in for product decisions.

Product Positioning:

• Develop clear product positioning and messaging that resonates with target customers.
• Act as the product leader within the company, advocating for the product and driving its success.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in product management for a consumer tech product (ideally, a dating app or social media platform).
• Proven track record of successfully launching and growing tech products.
• Strong user research and user empathy skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across various teams (engineering, design, marketing).
• Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to product decision-making.
• Experience with product road mapping, prioritization frameworks, and user story development.
• Passion for the dating app space and a deep understanding of current trends and user behavior.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira).
• Bonus points for experience with A/B testing tools and user analytics platforms.
