Job Description

  • The Accountant is responsible for managing the hotel’s financial records, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all financial transactions.
  • This role involves maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • The Accountant works closely with the Financial Controller to support the hotel’s financial operations and contributes to the overall financial health of the organization. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the hotel.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and delivery capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to determine purchasing needs.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring all approvals and documentation are in place.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet the hotel’s operational requirements.
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the hotel.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure accurate financial reporting related to procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier evaluation.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and hotel management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in purchasing documentation and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions in line with the hotel’s needs and budget.
  • Certification in procurement is a plus.
