The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing process within the organization, ensuring the procurement of quality products and services at competitive prices. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with other departments to ensure that procurement goals align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and conditions to ensure the company is making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure the best prices and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and manage any issues that arise.
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery.
  • Approve purchase orders and ensure that all purchases are cost-effective and meet the company’s quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Prepare and manage the procurement budget.
  • Track expenses and ensure that procurement activities remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with the procurement process.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive working environment within the team.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and production, to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
