Job Summary: 

  • The Point of Sale (POS) Terminal Configuration and Setup Officer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of POS terminals used in various retail and hospitality settings.
  • The officer will be responsible for the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of POS software, hardware, and networks. 

Note: Maximum age for application is 26.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring POS hardware and software systems. 
  • Setting up and testing new POS terminals. 
  • Providing technical support to end-users.
  • Troubleshooting POS hardware and software issues. 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues. 
  • Maintaining records of all POS hardware and software installations. 
  • Documenting standard operating procedures for POS configuration and setup.
  • Developing training materials and conducting training sessions for end-users. 
  • Providing ongoing maintenance and support for POS systems. 
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the POS industry.  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in configuring and setting up POS systems. 
  • Strong technical skills in POS hardware, software, and networking.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 Kilograms. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.  

Weekly Work Schedule:

  • Review and prioritize incoming support/configuration requests from Customer Experience Team. 
  • Install and configure new POS hardware and software systems as needed.
  • Test and troubleshoot POS terminals to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues. 
  • Document standard operating procedures for POS configuration and setup. (Or modify existing one and submit for review before adoption) 
  • Update records of all POS hardware and software installations. 
  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person (Depending on Calibre of Merchant). 
  • Develop training materials for end-users on POS configuration and setup.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure proper usage of POS devices.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve any reported issues with POS hardware or software.
