Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing comprehensive commissioning plans and schedules, coordinating activities with various stakeholders including engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Reviewing engineering designs, specifications, and equipment manuals to ensure readiness for commissioning activities. This may involve inspecting equipment and systems to verify compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Overseeing the execution of commissioning activities, including equipment installation, system testing, functional checks, and performance verification. This involves troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring that all systems are operating according to design requirements.
  • Maintaining detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and equipment performance. Generating reports to document the commissioning process and communicate progress to project stakeholders.
  • Providing training to operations and maintenance personnel on the newly commissioned systems and equipment. Facilitating the smooth transition of the plant from commissioning to operations phase.
  • Ensuring that all commissioning activities are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Identifying and addressing any safety hazards or environmental concerns associated with commissioning activities.
  • Participating in lessons learned exercises to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in future commissioning projects.

Academic Qualification:

  • Minimum of HND/BSc in relevant discipline

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and industry experience is essential

KEY SKILLS

  • Deep knowledge of oil and gas processing equipment, systems, and technologies is essential. This includes familiarity with upstream, midstream, and downstream processes such as drilling, production, refining, and distribution.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices are critical. This includes knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
  • Proficiency in commissioning methodologies, procedures, and standards specific to the oil and gas industry is necessary. This includes familiarity with codes such as API (American Petroleum Institute) standards and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes.
  • Ability to manage complex commissioning projects within the constraints of time, cost, and quality.
  • Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, and mitigating project risks is invaluable.
  • Capacity to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that arise during the commissioning process. This may involve conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, is essential. This includes clear written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes and procedures to ensure that commissioning activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
