Overall Objective: Responsible for sustaining a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.  Also responsible for driving the timely delivery of business targets whilst ensuring that team members understands their specific and unique role to bottom line results. 

  • Responsible for determining the (best) practice means for achieving organisational goals within budgetary constraints
  • Ensures continuous improvement; contingencies and alternatives
  • Coordinates available resources to best achieve organisational goals
  • Time span for outcome of work/ decision to come to fruition 2 year – with milestones within year 1 and year 2 respectively 

Role Complexity:  

  • Extract value from what we already have by focusing on optimizing processes within the Unit/Department in line with the value creation philosophy.  This includes individual contributions and recommendations to improve existing business project/initiative, capital/budget efficiency activities within the Unit, contracts review and negotiation in collaboration with the Procurement team, structural changes within the Unit etc. 
  • Drive Innovation by identifying and taking advantage of new business opportunities, e.g., by stimulating and encouraging new business opportunities, launch of products, product/process innovation, business model innovation etc.
  • Maintain leadership in the ICT/Digital industry by influencing stakeholders within your immediate ecosystem for the company’s benefit. This includes participation in credible external think-tank sessions, involvement in inter-divisional focus Group sessions to improve business performance etc.  
  • Enhance/expand the company’s role in the larger national macro environment by participating in CSR projects and/or NGO’s, involvement in recognized professional institutions, think-tank activities etc.
  • Role model the vital behaviours needed to sustain organisational performance and drive people management activities by being the principal coach for your direct reports using the people management framework. Participate in employee engagement projects such as mentorship, facilitating programs, etc. In addition, support recruitment, on boarding and grievance management processes etc. 

Task Complexity:
Financial Perspective (10%)

  • Support the Shareholder return strategy by developing and implementing Network Group Processes that are aligned to achieving all elements on the business score card. (I.e. Grow Market Share, Grow ICT & Data Revenue, Increase EBITDA margins, Assure Revenue, CAPEX Returns Management and Net Subscriber Additions). 
  • Participate in the review of Business Processes (headcount, process optimisation, etc.), to drive efficiency gains to ensure at least 5% reduction in Divisional budget year-on-year.

Customer Perspective (20%)

  • Serve the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience.
  • Strategic Partnerships with the company’s leadership team to drive awareness on expected behaviours and impact on non-compliance on bottom line results and company image/reputation. 
  • Drive planned strategy for the successful delivery of the company’s transformation initiatives focusing on Customer centricity, including Perfect 10 Project.
  • Drive an increase in the company’s Net Promoter Score.
  • Interface with logistic support to ensure required 3G Node B equipment is ordered on time, cleared and stored in the warehouse and are delivered to the site.

Stakeholder Perspectives (5%)

  • Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers.
  • Coordinate, coach and influence external partners and essential support departments across the company’s business units to deliver a seamless pre-sales and post-sales service experience.
  • Manage 3G Implementation Contractors (Vendors), ensuring project milestones are met and project schedule is adhered to.

Internal Perspective (40%)

  • Develop policies and procedures for 3G implementation and integration into the Network.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning and integration of 3G Node B equipment, ensuring availability of Node B equipment required for 3G implementation.
  • Manage the integration of completed 3G equipment into the Network, ensuring processes and procedures are followed through in all activities.
  • Resolve issues relating to 3G implementation, ensuring adherence to the company’s SHE policy.
  • Provide technical input into re-negotiation of contracts. 
  • Provide plans for delivering 3G projects, ensuring they are delivered in within set time, costs and quality.
  • Track, monitor and report progress on 3G related projects. 

People (Learning & Growth) (15%)

  • Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.  
  • Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
  • Review performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.

Supervisory /Leadership/Managerial  Complexity:

  • Coordinate activities of contractors (vendors)
  • Oversee the availability of material and human resource at planned 3G project site.
