Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and promote holistic growth across various domains.
  • Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging, encourages exploration, and supports social-emotional development.
  • Provide a balanced schedule that includes playtime, circle time, storytime, arts and crafts, music and movement, outdoor activities, and other engaging experiences.
  • Foster language and literacy development through storytelling, rhymes, songs, and interactive discussions.
  • Encourage creativity and imagination through art, dramatic play, and hands-on activities.
  • Support cognitive development by introducing basic concepts such as shapes, colors, numbers, and letters through age-appropriate materials and methods.
  • Promote fine and gross motor skills development through games, manipulatives, and physical activities.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, document their achievements, and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to create a cohesive and enriching learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s progress, addressing concerns, and fostering a strong school-home partnership.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom, following established procedures and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • A strong practicing Spirit-filled Christian, with a deep commitment to Christian values and principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Relevant teaching certification for nursery school or early childhood education.
  • Proven experience working with young children in a nursery or preschool setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, age-appropriate teaching methodologies, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Passion for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports each child’s unique needs and interests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • Patience, compassion, and the ability to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, play-based approaches, and hands-on activities for young children.
  • Understanding of child behavior management techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest research and trends in early childhood education.
