Overview of the Role:

  • The Monitoring Officer, a pivotal role in our organization, will be responsible for setting up and managing the MEAL strategy and systems for the Foundation.
  • This strategy will track and assess the progress of our health and skills training programs, ensure accountability, and generate insights that will directly inform program development and improvement, significantly impacting our operations.
  • The role is full-time and based onsite at our office in Fadeyi-Yaba, Lagos.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring:

  • Develop and implement monitoring plans and tools.
  • Collect and analyze data on program outputs, outcomes, and impact.
  • Identify and report on program successes and challenges.

Evaluation:

  • Assist in designing and conducting evaluations, surveys, and assessments.
  • Analyze evaluation findings and recommend program improvements.

Accountability:

  • Ensure program/grantee compliance with organizational policies, SOPs, best practices, and grant requirements.
  • Investigate and document program complaints and feedback.

Learning:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and lessons learned across programs.
  • Document best practices and case studies for program improvements.

Reporting:

  • Prepare regular monitoring reports and data visualizations.
  • Contribute to internal and external program impact reports.
  • Work with the communications manager to effectively share the impact of our work with external stakeholders.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with program teams to integrate MEAL into program design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public health, statistics, social sciences).
  • Four years minimum experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in health/skills training programs.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Experience designing monitoring tools and leading assessments and longitudinal studies
  • Proficiency in MS Office, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and experience in grassroot community entry strategies
  • Commitment to high moral and ethical standards

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in monitoring and evaluation (e.g., MEAL DPro).
  • Experience with data management software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with grant-making requirements (e.g., USAID and UN agencies).
