Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily mining operations in open pit mines, ensuring that production targets are met within budget and time constraints.

Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of mining professionals, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Equipment Management:

  • Ensure the optimal utilization and maintenance of mining equipment, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term mining plans, optimizing resource extraction while minimizing environmental impact.

Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on mining activities, production outcomes, and equipment performance to senior management.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities, regulatory bodies, and company executives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in open pit mining, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of mining equipment and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
