Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the logistics and operations are well managed.
  • Monitors processes involved in the supply chain by liaising with relevant parties.
  •  Keep track of delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper adherence to the company’s Quality, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Implement Policies, SOP and Methodology to improve cost-effectiveness and integrity.
  • Complete and file compliance documentation for import, export, and supply chain security.
  • Plan and schedule the delivery of Cargoes.
  • Identify and deliver operational cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.
  • Make sure that project deadlines are met.
  • Knowledge of international and local shipping programs/standards.
  •  Identify, and develop relationships and plans with key stakeholders.
  • Supervise the allocation of jobs to various subcontractors based on the transport requirements for each client.
  • Follow up closely with Operations Team to ensure all documents required for transport vessels are filled accurately.
  • Manage and register any delays or repairs needed on vessels immediately after they occur to the management.
  • Manage relationships with law and safety enforcement agencies, ascertain traffic situations, and arrange free passage of vessels.
  • Co-ordinate with Project teams and Operations/Installation Manager to ensure timely scheduling of vessels, personnel, and materials movements.
  • Monitor the import and export process and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and customs requirements.
  • Execute domestic and international shipments as needed, with include preparation of shipping documents in our ERP system.
  • Provide full reporting to senior management.
  • Manage all aspects of daily operations including optimum use of manpower and equipment to ensure efficient and cost-effective handling.
  •  Manage conflict, solve problems, and mediate between the different interests of multiple stakeholders.
  • Investigate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Build and maintain strategically important client and contractor relations.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
  •  Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least (minimum) 8 years of work experience, 3 years of which must have been at a management level in the Engineering, Procurement, or Construction sector
  • Post graduate degree (Including MBA) will be an advantage
  • A relevant professional certification is an advantage
  • Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/exportand customs regulations, including security requirements
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful information
  • Membership in an appropriate professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport would be advantageous
