Job Summary:

The Inventory Officer, Tools & Equipment is responsible for preserving the longevity of tools and equipment utilized in the CNG Workshop. Additionally, the Inventory Officer will be responsible for establishing maintenance schedules for tools and equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all tools and equipment in the workshop.
  • Regularly perform physical counts and reconcile any discrepancies between the physical inventory and records.
  • Create and keep detailed records for each tool and piece of equipment, including purchase date, maintenance history, and usage logs.
  • Ensure that all records are in compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
  • Implement an organized system for storing tools and equipment to ensure easy retrieval.
  • Categorize tools based on type, usage, and frequency to optimize workshop efficiency.
  • Monitor and track the maintenance schedules for tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely servicing and repairs.
  • Manage the process of issuing tools and equipment to workshop personnel.
  • Record details of items issued, including dates and conditions, and track their return.
  • Communicate with workshop supervisors, technicians, and other staff to understand tool requirements and usage patterns.
  • Provide regular updates on inventory status and upcoming maintenance needs.
  • Analyze usage patterns and suggest adjustments to inventory levels based on demand.
  • Identify trends in equipment failures and propose improvements to prevent recurring issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for tool and equipment management.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to implement and enforce safety protocols.

Requirements

  • HND/BSc in any Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of cognate work experience in inventory monitoring and management
  • Ability to maintain a well-organized and efficient inventory system.
  • Thoroughness in recording and tracking tools and equipment details.
  • Effective communication with workshop personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with various tools and equipment commonly used in the workshop.
  • Ability to identify and address issues related to tool availability, maintenance, and usage.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic office applications.
  • Collaboration with maintenance staff, supervisors, and other relevant departments
