Job Description
- The Human Resource Administrator is a key role in the elementary school administration, responsible for managing the school’s human resources function and ensuring that the school is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- The Human Resource Administrator should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and parents.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating the recruitment process, which includes advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, scheduling interviews, and managing employment contracts and documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring that new employees are on-boarded smoothly and efficiently, which includes conducting orientation sessions, processing paperwork, and setting up employee profiles.
- Responsible for processing internal arrangements such as travel, training sessions, and team-building events.
- Maintaining internal records, which may include preparing, issuing and filing company documentation (e.g. sick leave, maternity leave, etc.).
- Communicating with recruiters and other external parties.
- Updating company policies and ensuring legal compliance.
- Acting as the first point of contact for all personnel queries
- Responsible for managing employee benefits and compensation packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- Responsible for managing employee relations, which includes addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment contracts, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for ensuring that the school is in compliance with all employment laws and regulations, which includes staying up-to-date with relevant legislation and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies.
- Managing and maintaining personnel records, including employee files and benefits information.
- Overseeing the payroll process, including preparing and distributing paychecks, tracking time and attendance, and processing payroll reports.
- Maintaining employee benefits programs, including enrolling employees, answering benefits-related questions, and resolving any issues.
KPIs:
The Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) for a human resource administrator include:
- Time to hire: This KPI measures the average time it takes to fill a vacant position in the school.
- Employee retention: This KPI measures the percentage of employees who stay with the school for a given period, such as one year.
- Absenteeism rate: This KPI measures the percentage of employees who are absent from work due to illness or other reasons.
- Performance management: This KPI measures the effectiveness of the HR Administrator in managing the performance of employees, which includes setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing development plans.
- Compliance: This KPI measures the HR Administrator’s ability to ensure that the school is in compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Employee satisfaction: This KPI measures employee satisfaction with the HR services provided by the school, such as benefits, compensation, and professional development opportunities.
- Cost per hire: This KPI measures the cost of recruiting and hiring new employees, including advertising, interviews, and on-boarding.
- Training and development: This KPI measures the HR Administrator’s ability to develop and implement training and development programs for employees.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Excellent telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in an HR role
- Sound knowledge of labor laws and practices.
- The ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
- Must be approachable and helpful.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Good ethical judgment.
- prior experience in an administrative or human resources role.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Technology savvy.
