Job Purpose:

  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Finance to join Onoseke-vwe Agro Ventures Limited (OAVL) in Ughelli, Delta State.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance management, ready to take on a challenging role in a vibrant agricultural company.
  • This position offers the opportunity to lead financial operations and contribute to the strategic growth and success of OAVL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets to support OAVL’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s financial performance, including cash flow, expenditures, and revenues.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external financial audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and financial risks.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory management systems and processes.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance management, accounting, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and processes.
  • Ability to manage a financial/monitoring team and demonstrate leadership.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate financial and monitoring skills of communities through capacity-building efforts.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel and finance software (Quickbooks) Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
