  • The Head of Finance will be responsible for ensuring the company remains profitable through effective and efficient financial management, providing reliable, timely and accurate management information to the Executive Leadership Team for planning, control and decision making in execution of company’s strategic, tactical and operational activities.
  • The role will require expertise in figures and financials, tax administration and practice, budgeting, budgetary control, strategic planning, industry knowledge and Accounting software.

Key responsibilities

  • Management and shaping of the business through efficient allocation of company funds for capital and operational requirements.
  • Efficient and optimal Management of company’s funds inflow and Outflow to achieve set goals and safeguarding Companies Assets by deploying preventive and risk management measures to forestall losses.
  • Provide financial guidance to ensure the attainment of set objectives on profitability, growth and risk management
  • Profit planning function through advising management on pricing, cost, discount and margins
  • Preparation of timely periodic financial and management reports to inform and guide management decision making.
  • Providing Short and Long term planning information of company business in line with direction of Management.
  • Implementation of controls and other policies formulated and put in place Management to guide operations of the company.
  • Preparation and Packaging of Annual Report and Accounts of the company for presentation to Management and Auditors
  • Implementation of approval limits to ensure discipline in approval process and control in fund disbursement.
  • Identifying and managing financial risks that could impact the company’s performance.
  • Implement risk mitigating strategies and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records and Protect company’s assets through insurance scheme arrangement
  • Installing good credit management policies and implementing same
  • Development of risk management documents such as credit control policy, authority schedule etc.
  • Relate with Banks, Auditors (internal and external) and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with policies, processes and applicable Laws to ensuring adherence and acceptable corporate governance level is maintained in the business that meet stakeholders’ expectation
  • Work with External Bodies; Tax Authority, Legal, Insurers in ensuring that all statutory provisions are adhered and adequate insurance policies are in place for all risk exposure

Qualifications

  • Graduate with HND/ BSC Degree in Finance, Accounting /Management Sciences or Humanities.
  • MBA in Fin. Mgt or related Course is added advantage
  • 10 Years of experience with cognate experience in Management of Finance Department.
  • Minimum of five (5 ) years post professional qualification
  • Professional Accounting qualification (ICAN, ACA, CPA, ACCA, etc.) 
  • Professional Course Certifications.
  • Must have knowledge of Applicable Accounting Standards, relevant laws as well as Internal Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Have good Appreciable knowledge IFRS and global accounting Practices.
  • Must have good problem solving skills assessing issues and proffering solutions
  • Must have excellent leadership skills to demonstrate a strong sense of ethics, integrity and dependability when managing personnel.
  • Have knowledge of Accounting Packages (ERP) SAGE, SAP HANA etc.
  • Must have keen interest of the industry and trends in the industry.
