Job Summary
- The Head of Mineral Title Management is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of mineral title acquisition, registration, and maintenance for the organization.
- This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for mineral title management to support the organization’s growth and objectives.
- Ensure strict adherence to all mining laws, regulations, and industry standards related to mineral title acquisition, registration, and maintenance.
- Oversee the acquisition of mineral rights through various methods, including purchase, lease, or other legal means.
- Manage the registration of mineral titles with relevant government agencies and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Monitor and maintain mineral title records, including renewals, transfers, and encumbrances.
- Conduct thorough due diligence investigations on mineral properties to identify potential risks and liabilities.
- Manage and resolve any legal disputes or conflicts related to mineral titles.
- Lead and manage a team of mineral title professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop and manage the budget for mineral title management activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, landowners, and other stakeholders involved in mineral title management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law, geology, mining engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral title management, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of mining laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as land management systems and legal databases.
