Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and visitors and managing telephone calls
  • Managing appointments: scheduling appointments and keeping those appointments on time
  • Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and documentation
  • Managing the reception ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat, clean, and calm; reporting on any damage
  • Comforting distressed patients: this may range from simply fixing any appointment issues that may arise to responding to distressed patients with compassion.
  • Ensure that the patient’s right to confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that every person who visits the hospital, be it a patient or a visitor, leaves as a satisfied customer.
  • Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.
  • Perform other clerical and administrative assistant duties as may be directed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum academic qualification is a National diploma in communication – related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven work experience as a receptionist, front desk officer, customer service officer or similar role
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office application tools
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Candidate demeanor must exude decorum
  • Must Possess very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
