Job Summary
- The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a company’s fleet of vehicles.
- This includes planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of fleet maintenance, vehicle acquisition, and driver management.
- The Fleet Manager ensures that the fleet is operating efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet management plan.
- Monitor fleet performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze vehicle usage data to optimize fleet size and composition.
- Manage vehicle acquisition, disposal, and replacement processes.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers and suppliers.
- Manage fleet maintenance budgets.
- Train, and supervise drivers.
- Ensure compliance with driving regulations and company policies.
- Manage driver performance and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor driver hours of service and fatigue management.
- Develop and manage fleet operating budgets.
- Track and analyze fleet costs, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation.
- Prepare regular fleet performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Implement safety programs and initiatives.
- Investigate and address safety incidents.
Required Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management principles, practices, and technologies.
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
