Job Summary:

The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of farm operations, including crop production, livestock management, and staff supervision. This role involves planning, coordinating, and optimizing farming activities to ensure productivity and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Farm Operations Management:

  • Plan and implement farming activities, including planting, harvesting, and breeding.
  • Monitor and evaluate crop and livestock performance to maximize yields.

Staff Supervision:

  • Hire, train, and manage farm workers and seasonal labor.
  • Assign tasks and monitor work performance to ensure efficiency and quality.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the farm budget, including costs for labor, equipment, and supplies.
  • Analyze financial reports and make informed decisions to improve profitability.

Crop and Livestock Management:

  • Oversee the cultivation of crops and the care of livestock.
  • Implement sustainable farming practices and ensure compliance with agricultural regulations.

Equipment and Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure that all farming equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Oversee the maintenance of farm buildings and infrastructure.

Market Research and Sales:

  • Stay informed about market trends and demand for crops and livestock.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with buyers and suppliers.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including production, expenses, and labor.
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders and regulatory compliance.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Implement safety protocols to protect workers and livestock.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.

Irrigation and Soil Management:

  • Develop and manage irrigation systems and water resources.

Community Engagement:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in farming or agricultural management.
  • Strong understanding of crop production, livestock care, and sustainable practices.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of agricultural technologies and farming equipment.

Working Conditions:
