We are looking to hire an Embrologist who will be responsible for assisting Head Embryologist with all duties associated with running of the IVF Lab, as well as data entry and communication with clients and other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory startup
  • Semen handling and preparation for IVF.
  • Egg Collection and grading for maturation.
  • Fertilization assessment, stripping Embryo culture.
  • Dish making.
  • Embryo grading and transfer
  • Stock management, Recordkeeping/Data Entry.
  • Assist in Quality Control and lab cleanliness.
  • Supply inventory management
  • Maintain good laboratory technique and follow lab protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Note: Competence in ICSI, Embryo/oocyte freezing and thawing is an added advantage but not a requirement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the Basic Medical Science fields.
  • Minimun of 3 years practical experience as an Embroylogists

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a lab setting.
  • Ability to work under a laminar flow hood.
  • Flexible working hours, potential for long days (over 8 hours) and early morning start times.
  • Rotational weekend and holiday work.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently in outlined time frames

Other skills/experience:

  • Good hand to eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Works effectively in a team as well as alone (ability to work independently)
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter
  • Ability to communicate with team members honestly, effectively and with empathy
