- Our client is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Part Time Dance and Drama Instructor to join our team.
- You will be responsible for organising and overseeing the Dance and Drama sessions, ensuring that children have a memorable and enjoyable experience while participating in a range of activities.
- As an instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for performing arts among children. If you are passionate about working with children and have a background in dance and drama, we encourage you to apply.
Requirements
- Plan and conduct and age-appropriate dance and drama classes for children and design activities that promote creativity, self-expression, and teamwork while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Prepare materials and resources required for each Dance and Drama activity.
- Teach fundamental techniques in dance and drama, including but not limited to, body movement, coordination, rhythm, vocal projection, improvisation, and character development.
- Supervise and support club the children during sessions, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular opportunities for children to showcase their musical talents through performances, recitals, or other events, instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines.
- Attend refresher training sessions at the office twice a month to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Participate in virtual training sessions as required, to continuously improve skills and stay updated on best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in theatre arts or performing arts education or related field.
- A professional certification in special dance styles e.g ballet, jazz, contemporary or drama techniques.
- Minimum of two years of previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Proficient in a variety of dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop) and drama techniques (e.g., improvisation, storytelling).
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop engaging activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to the needs of a diverse group of children.
