Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Controller to join our team. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing project costs, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place, and providing accurate financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in cost control, preferably in a similar industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost control procedures and policies to track project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor and analyze project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses, to identify areas of cost savings and improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish and review project budgets and forecasts.
  • Track and review project progress and expenditures, providing regular cost reports and variance analysis to management.
  • Identify cost trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost optimization, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify project costs and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to monitor and control materials and equipment costs, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Analyze financial data, including cost estimates, actual costs, and budget deviations, to assist in financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Support project teams in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for new projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost control, recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance cost management efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in cost control, preferably in a related industry.
  • Solid understanding of cost control principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proficient in cost management software and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are desirable but not mandatory.
