Job Summary

  • The responsibilities of the cooling truck supervisor include coordinating the timing and delivery of products to wholesale trucks and trailers. Work with branches and other customers to ensure the best quality from the cooler.
  • Supervise and manage the daily work of department teammates; create and maintain schedules and job assignments.
  • Cover vacations/early load-outs when needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of cooling trucks.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the reliable operation of cooling units and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of cooling trucks to identify mechanical and electrical issues and address them promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with cooling units and systems, both mechanically and electrically.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of spare parts and supplies for cooling truck maintenance.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians on proper maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of cooling trucks and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for the operation and maintenance of cooling trucks.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and operations, to coordinate the scheduling and deployment of cooling trucks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 4 – 8 years relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role overseeing the maintenance of cooling trucks or similar equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in the maintenance of cooling units and systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in cooling trucks.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams related to cooling systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to the maintenance of cooling trucks.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
