We are seeking an experienced and diligent Compliance Officer to join our team. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the company’s Compliance Team. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and the ability to guide on complex regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing each market in which we operate, including monitoring changes in regulatory developments.
  • Change Management: Manage the identification, communication, and tracking of regulatory changes and analyze the impact of such changes. Create a regulatory change management process that identifies and coordinates modifying business processes and compliance controls to comply with applicable regulations.
  • Regulators Annual Review: Conduct the regulator’s required annual review of the company’s AML / CFT, code of ethics policies, compliance manuals, and procedures.
  • Risk Reports: Regularly prepare concise and clear reports on risk and control effectiveness to critical stakeholders.
  • Risk Management Strategies: Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with risk and compliance representatives to identify all related compliance requirements applicable to the business.
  • Framework Modification: Facilitate the creation and modification of all risk, governance, compliance, and standard frameworks.
  • Risk and Compliance Programs: Review and test Piggytechs’ risk and compliance programs and processes, identify gaps, and take ownership of resolution.
  • KYC/CDD Reviews: Complete KYC/CDD reviews for clients and counterparties
  • Regulatory Returns: Review and rendition of all regulatory returns.
  • Training Program: Create, implement, and maintain a training and awareness program that educates all employees on relevant compliance and risk requirements.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Develop and direct effective transaction monitoring processes and solutions to identify suspicious transactions and activities.
  • Other Responsibilities: Any other responsibility as may be required by the Senior Compliance Officer, COO or other members of the management team.

Requirements

  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in fintech compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CIN, CAMS, ICA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in compliance and risk management roles within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
