Cashier needed at Xpedient Expatriate Services

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cashier with a background in accounting to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service. Your accounting background will enable you to reconcile cash transactions, manage petty cash, and contribute to financial reporting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments, accurately and efficiently
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving issues or concerns
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, including daily sales summaries and cash reconciliation reports
• Manage petty cash fund and process reimbursements for approved expenses
• Assist with inventory management tasks, such as tracking stock levels and recording sales
• Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and exchanges
• Monitor and report any discrepancies or irregularities in cash transactions to management
• Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
• Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar role, preferably with a background in accounting
• Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and accounting principles
