Job Description

  • We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Chef specializing in Chinese cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality Chinese dishes, maintaining kitchen operations, and ensuring a superior dining experience for our employees and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every meal.
  • Kitchen Operations: Support the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Recipe Execution: Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed by the Head Chef, maintaining high standards of taste and appearance.
  • Ingredient Management: Assist in sourcing and selecting high-quality ingredients, with a focus on freshness and authenticity.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate meal preparation and service, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of meals.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on food and kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Customer Service: Engage with employees and guests to gather feedback and make adjustments to improve the dining experience.
  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance culinary skills and stay updated with the latest trends in Chinese cuisine.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts, with a specialization in Chinese cuisine preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen or restaurant setting.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in cooking a variety of Chinese dishes.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
  • Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an added advantage.

Working Conditions:
