About Company

Sandvine Incorporated is a networking equipment company based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Sandvine network policy control products are designed to implement broad network policies, ranging from service creation, billing, congestion management, and security. Sandvine targets its products at consumer Tier 1 and Tier 2 networks including cable, DSL, and mobile.
The Sandvine story begins in June 2001 in Waterloo, Ontario; a thriving community and technology hub an hour West of Toronto. Named in 2007 as the World’s Top Intelligent Community for prosperity rooted in broadband and information technology, Waterloo overcame a declining economy and fostered a culture of learning, spawning a climate of growth in the region which now boasts a tech cluster of nearly 1,000 companies.
This success was earned due-in no small part-to the University of Waterloo. Built on a foundation of science, engineering and math, a globally recognized cooperative education program, and a progressive intellectual property policy, the University of Waterloo has paved the way for many successful technology start-ups in the region. Waterloo is also home to two other leading schools: Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College.
In December of 2000, the Sandvine founding team was afforded a unique opportunity with the acquisition of start-up Pixstream and the timing was right. Sandvine opened its doors in the Summer of 2001, and despite grim statistics of start-up failures at the time, adapted to market needs, thanks to a series of industry firsts.
It is Sandvine’s pioneering spirit that drives a continued focus on innovation. For the team of over 500 strong-spanning the globe and representing diverse cultures and interests-and a list of customers our competitors surely envy, it continues to be one exhilarating ride.
