Responsibilties
- Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator to establish effective systems for delivering patient-centered care with compassion, dignity, and respect, resulting in positive health outcomes
- Administration of medications to patients according to the Doctor’s prescription.
- Follow up on all discharged or referred patients and ANC patients.
- Monitoring of labor cases and documentation of post & and delivery operative note
- Setting of intravenous infusion (when the need arises)
- Perform wound care and assist physicians during procedures.
- Ensure the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care is delivered to all patients and their families.
- Monitor and ensure patient satisfaction and be proactive in managing any issue that is identified.
- Act in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Council Code Standards of Conduct, performance and ethics for nurses.
- Promote innovations that will improve patient care.
- Ensure that all policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions that relate to patient management are regularly reviewed and updated, as required.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, concerns, non-conformities, and complaints about the wards and team, ensuring that statements are collected within agreed deadlines and by hospital policies.
- Prepare duty rosters to meet the activity of the wards/OPD, ensuring that staffing levels appropriately reflect case mix and dependency levels.
- Monitoring and following-up with the Housekeepers, ensuring the theater is clean and tidy before and after procedure or surgery.
- Participate in the selection and recruitment process, ensuring that all new staff receive an appropriate and completed induction to the hospital and wards.
- Ensure the wards comply with all health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that the education, training and professional development needs of nursing staff are identified and appropriate plans are in place to meet these needs. Participate in the training of staff as appropriate.
- Proactively work to identify and promote sustainable workforce strategies, ensuring that retention levels are good and that nursing morale remains high.
- Develop collaborative and cooperative relationships with other healthcare professionals, and participate in professional and managerial meetings, liaising as appropriate.
- Performance monitoring and management of nursing staff.
- Any other assignment as it may come from the General Manager or higher officer.
Qualifications
- Double Qualified Registered Nurse- Registered Midwife & Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing Science
- Minimum of 2 year Work Experience.
