Job Summary:
- Tiden Development Limited is seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Officer to oversee inventory and supplies for our construction projects.
- The successful candidate will ensure materials are stored properly, tracked efficiently, and readily available to meet project demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality and accuracy against purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and track the movement of materials in and out of the storage area.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials to verify compliance with quality standards. Assess and document the condition of materials upon receipt and throughout storage.
- Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Reporting: Generate reports on inventory levels and material quality, providing insights to improve inventory processes and maintain high standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all materials comply with industry regulations and company policies related to quality and safety.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to optimize inventory flow and address quality-related concerns.
Storage Organization:
- Organize and manage the storage area to optimize space and facilitate easy access to materials.
- Implement and maintain labelling and storage systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Order Coordination:
- Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and Site Supervisors to forecast material needs and reorder supplies as necessary.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for required materials.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate documentation for all inventory transactions, including receipts, dispatches, and returns.
- Promptly report discrepancies and issues to management.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in the storage area and on the construction site.
- Follow best practices for handling and storing materials to prevent damage and accidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in a related field.
- Previous experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction industry, is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
