Job Description:

  • We are on a transformative journey and seeking to hire an experienced Finance Officer to join our diverse team. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Lead and collaborate with other departments across the Group.

Responsibilities:

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in preparing and analysing project budgets, operational reports, and other management reports.
  • Prepare and manage the assets register and assist in the review of the general ledger, and post-financial transactions into accounting software, and adjust as required.
  • Handling statutory remittances and compliances including tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports.
  • Collaborating with other departments leads in developing capital, recurrent expenses, and personnel plans for forecasting and budgeting, and assisting with Budget analysis and reporting.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations Banks, Accruals, payables, etc.; and resolving outstanding items or discrepancies.
  • Assisting in the end-year finance processes and providing support during statutory Audits.
  • Assisting in the processing of project documentation and pre-qualification/tender purposes.
  • Liaising with relevant external contacts including – bankers, auditors, solicitors, etc.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Line Manager

Requirements:

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, Economics, or any related discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (E.g., ICAN, ACCA).
  • 0 – 3 years of core experience in a Finance function within the Oil and Gas industry or related industry.
  • A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and knowledge of existing corporate and industry regulations would be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of financial reporting and data analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, intuition, and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of administrative operations
  • Ability to support the day-to-day operations in the administrative department
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team and collaborate across teams.
