Job Description
- We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English & Literature Teacher to join our educational team.
- The ideal candidate will teach both English Language and Literature to secondary school students, helping them to develop strong communication, comprehension, critical thinking, and writing skills.
- The teacher will be responsible for designing engaging lesson plans, assessing student performance, and fostering a love for reading and writing among students.
- As this is a residential position, the teacher must be prepared to live on the school premises and actively participate in the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to students in accordance with the curriculum.
- Create lesson plans that are engaging, creative, and aligned with educational standards.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and exams.
- Facilitate class discussions that develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help improve their language and literary abilities.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development programs.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in curriculum development.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the school community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or related field.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Ibadan, Lagos, Ogun, or other Southwest states.
- Must be willing to live within the school premises.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in English and Literature is preferred.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be tech-savvy and able to incorporate technology into teaching practices.
- Passionate about education and helping students succeed.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with online teaching tools and platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching methods to suit various learning styles.
