Job Summary

  • The purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the performance of all field construction activities for the assigned projects in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • This role requires thorough working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to deal with complex situations, comprehend the overall picture and how individual actions fit within it.

Responsibilities
Strategic Tasks:

  • Plan and execute field construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Monitor productivity and cost and implements appropriate action to maintain maximum labor productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  • Ensure that contractor’s priorities and productivity are maintained relative to schedule. Verification of actual and planned progress, careful monitoring of main contractor’s scope.
  • Liaise with piping and structural fabrication team to ensure compliance with schedule and quality requirements and conduct visits to module / piping fabrication yards as required.
  • Liaison with main contractor to review, comment and approve all Construction Procedures and ITP’s.
  • Responsible for the management of the construction sub – contractor activities (If need say).
  • Maintain daily contact with Site and Project Managers, ensuring open and effective communication, and immediate escalation of issues as appropriate.
  • Provide weekly construction overall reporting as required.
  • Manage the Site Construction Team to ensure effective and timely response to all troubleshooting and problem-solving needs.
  • Manage the Construction Team to ensure Construction milestones, and Mechanical Completion etc. activities and documentation are planned, executed and controlled.
  • Work closely with the Cost Manager & Planner to forecast out turn cost/programme & monitor costs with a robust monthly CVR / project review.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc in Engineering related discipline
  • As a minimum he shall have 10 years’ experience of construction work and have acquired a sound working knowledge of fabrication and construction engineering in the oil and gas industry.
  • Good working knowledge of material management systems, process controls, warehousing and logistics within the oil and gas industry
  • In addition, the incumbent shall be familiar with the requirements for the HSSE aspects, Quality Assurance and Control requirements in relation to the project cycle.
  • Proficient in the use of standard desk top software, data compilation and manipulation and competent in maintaining and updating project reports accordingly.
  • Proven ability to work to demanding project schedules.
