Job Description:

  • Gidi Burger is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Waiter/Food Runner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent service, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our customers. As a Waiter/Food Runner, you will take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure timely and efficient service between the kitchen and dining area. This role is essential to our customer experience, and you will work closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure that our customers receive top-quality service and food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, take orders accurately, and answer any questions about the menu.
  • Ensure orders are communicated to the kitchen promptly and served to customers in a timely fashion.
  • Run food from the kitchen to the dining area and assist with clearing tables and resetting them for the next customers.
  • Assist in ensuring that the dining area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
  • Handle POS (Point-of-Sale) system to process customer payments.
  • Assist in packaging take-out orders and ensuring accuracy in delivery orders.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is maintained throughout the dining experience, handling any customer inquiries or issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage service flow and ensure a smooth operation during peak times.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior experience in a waiter, food runner, or customer service role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Location: Applicants must live within a 5-30minute commute to our location (i.e reside within Surulere and its environs).
  • Language: Must be able to speak, write, and understand good English.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic understanding of POS systems for order processing and payment handling (training will be provided).
  • Availability: Must be able to work weekends and public holidays. The role requires alternating daily shifts, 6 days a week, with one day off.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods and carry food trays and other items safely.
  • Medical Testing: Applicants will be required to undergo periodic medical tests, including a food handler’s test, as part of our commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Identification: Must have a NIN Slip.
  • Candidates should possess a minimum of SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.
  • Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Work Schedule:

  • Shift Pattern: Alternating shifts (e.g., morning, evening and straight shifts).
  • Work Week: 6 days a week, with 1 day off.
  • Weekend/Public Holiday Work: Required.
