Job Summary:
- The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by assisting with various financial tasks, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and preparing reports. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations within the real estate company.
Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing: Assist with recording and processing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank and account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Report Preparation: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Invoice Management: Process and track invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record- keeping.
- Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Document Management: Organize and maintain financial documents and files, both physical and digital.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and track expenses related to real estate operations, ensuring proper allocation and adherence to budgets.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior accountants and other finance team members to support various accounting functions and projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or a similar industry. Internship experience is acceptable.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and providing financial information.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve basic accounting discrepancies and issues.
