Head of Finance needed at Spleet Africa

About the role:

• This role is designed to oversee Spleet’s financial health and ensuring the business grows towards profitability.
• The incumbent will be required to manage liquidity, revenue, investments, and budgetary control.

What you will be doing on the role:

Investment Management

• Oversee the coordination and sourcing of funds and recommended investments sources with potential for high yielding profits.
• Identify, recommend and implement suitable investment vehicles for the management of funds.
• Regularly monitor domestic and foreign investment portfolio
• Analyze and prepare management//annual accounts

Liquidity Management

• Determine daily liquidity posture and advice concerned internal stakeholder(s)
• Ensure efficient and effective monitoring and review of daily finance activities for effective cash flow management.
• Recommend and implement optimal liquidity management strategies to enhance Spleet’s profitability.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting/budgeting for effective business planning.
• Adopt Spleet-fit financial risk management practices

Credit Management

• Manage the credit processes and policies
• Analyze and score credit ratings for members
• Oversee credit monitoring, collections and recovery processes

Financial Control

• Oversee all financial tasks and preparation of all accounts
• Review management accounts and financial records
• Oversee Audit and tax engagements for the organization
• Advise on policies to be developed and implemented for better financial control

People Management

• Lead the finance function to ensure all roles in the finance team are working together towards the agreed goals.
• Play a pivotal role in building capability of individual team members

What you would need to have to excel in this role:

• Hands on experience at a seed-stage startup
• ACCA/ACA certification
• High level of intellectual capacity with a knack for cross functional collaboration and driving results
• Logical thinker, exceptional communicator and great interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver with expected outcomes.
• Strong ability to context-switch easily between multiple and concurrent initiatives.
• Comfortable making quick decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Industry experience in real estate/prop-tech/property management will be a great advantage.
