Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, with the ability to handle complex legal matters efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Law
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- Provide legal advice on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all commercial dealings.
- Assist clients with risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct due diligence and prepare reports for clients on various commercial matters.
Client Relations
- Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, providing timely and effective legal counsel.
- Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal support.
- Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base by sharing expertise and best practices.
Job Requirements
- At least a second-class upper degree from a recognized university as well as the Nigerian Law School. Relevant post graduate qualifications may be an added advantage, but are not a requirement
- 10+ years active experience in active transactional experience and capable of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Strong legal ability, a practical commercial approach and excellent drafting and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
