Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, and transfusion medicine.
  • Prepare samples for examination, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for laboratory testing and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures and test results.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff.
  • Communicate test results and findings with healthcare providers.
  • Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
  • Valid license to practice.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in test results.
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems and software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Candidate must be a resident of Ughelli & it’s environs.
